Why this site exists
Tax rules change, but the question people ask stays the same: how much will I actually pay, and can I pay less? NewTaxRegimeCalculator.com exists to answer that in seconds, without a login, a paywall, or a wall of jargon.
When the new regime became the default, a lot of taxpayers were left unsure whether to stay with it or opt back into the old one. Most calculators either showed only one regime or buried the comparison. We built a tool that puts both side by side and simply tells you which is cheaper for you.
How the numbers are worked out
The calculator applies the official income tax slabs for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27), the ₹75,000 and ₹50,000 standard deductions, the Section 87A rebate with marginal relief, the surcharge bands, and the 4% health and education cess. The logic runs entirely in your browser — we never see your figures.
We keep the tool and the guides updated as rules change, and we write the explanations the way we'd explain them to a friend: plainly, with real examples.
What we are — and what we aren't
We're an independent information site, not a tax firm, and we're not affiliated with the Income Tax Department. The results here are careful estimates to help you plan, not a substitute for professional advice. For anything that affects your actual return, please confirm with a qualified tax professional. Our full position is in the disclaimer.
